I'm a retired junior high teacher who was in the closet for 35 years but am completely out now. Going out to dinner, not too fancy, going to a funny movie, stopping at a gay bar for one drink, and then see what happens from there. I don't like to play games or deal with a pseudo-intellectual but there should be plenty of sharing of travel experiences, talking about careers, discussing shared interests in politics, the world situation, books or movies. If you're a fanatic about something, don't be pushy about it although enthusiasm is fine.
